YOU GUYS! I just discovered one of the coolest, most mind-blowing concepts that is new, hip, and something that you will not want to miss. Are you ready to find out what this ingenious, two-syllable concept is?
S-Town… the one that started it all for me! After seeing numerous Instagram stories regarding this record-shattering podcast, I gave it a listen and never looked back! If you are like me and enjoy Dateline and 20/20-esque shows, S-Town is for you. It has mystery, death, unexpected romance… the whole package! (I may or may not still have a terrible podcast hangover from John B. McLemore’s addicting, albeit bizarre story…)
I know, I know; I am about 3 years late to this party… but I am here and it feels great! This is another murder mystery (which, like S-Town, is produced by This American Life) that is absolutely captivating and difficult to stop listening to. Sarah Koenig (whose voice is like butter, in my opinion) went above and beyond researching and curating this 12-part piece about young love, a brutal murder, and the potentially botched case of Baltimore-teenager Adnan Syed.
3.) Self-Made Man
Don’t let the title deceive you; this podcast is for both men and women who, like myself, are trying to “forge our destiny” and create our own business, empire, and/or lifestyle. Hosted by successful entrepreneur Mike Dillard, Self-Made Man features some of the biggest names in the business world who are set out to both inspire and teach!
No, I’m not in the wedding business or interested in getting into the wedding business, but… after seeing that a blogger I follow on IG was appearing on an episode, I figured I would give it a listen and discovered that their business tips pertain to not only the wedding industries, but other businesses as well.
5.) Messy Parenting
One of my dear friends recommended Messy Parenting to me and I LOVE it. Though it is technically a Catholic blog (yes; I am very Catholic!), they still offer some fun and unique insight into parenting that can be useful to anyone who listens!
So, there you have it! Like I said, I am a newbie to the world of podcasts and would love to hear your take on what’s hot and what you recommend. Help a mamma out; give me your suggestions in the comments!
